Terms of service

These terms apply to the personal Inbox Zero installation operated by the owner of sands.dev and its informational website. The application is based on the open-source Inbox Zero project; these terms describe this independently operated installation. Contact: jon@sands.dev.

Intended use

This installation is for the operator's personal use. It is not offered as a public email-hosting or subscription service. Only connect accounts you own or are authorized to manage, and comply with applicable law and your email provider's terms.

Account authorization

You choose whether to grant access through your email provider's authorization flow. Review the permissions before connecting. Access can be revoked through the provider's account settings. Keep account credentials and access to the self-hosted system secure.

Email actions and AI output

The application can assist with viewing, organizing, and analyzing messages and preparing drafts. Review rules before enabling actions that change your mailbox. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete; review classifications, summaries, and drafts before relying on them. Sending is currently disabled in this installation.

Availability and responsibility

The installation is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, particular results, or error-free classification. Maintain appropriate backups of important mail. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator disclaims warranties and is not liable for losses arising from use or unavailability of this personal installation. These terms do not limit rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Privacy and stopping use

The privacy policy explains connected-account data processing, retention, and deletion. You may stop using the installation and revoke account access at any time. The operator may change or discontinue the installation.

Changes and questions

These terms may be updated as the installation changes. The effective date appears above. Contact jon@sands.dev with questions.
